‘The Geek And His Bad Boys’ by R.Cayden (Book Review)

Hi everyone! I’ve been having a lot of fun bringing you guys these reviews! I feel like making this second blog has been such a breathe of fresh air for me, and I really hope you’re enjoying these posts as well.

How is everyone? Going stir crazy yet? I hope all of you have been staying safe and as sane as possible in these wild times. Hopefully my posts can take out of all the mess that’s going in our world, for even a little bit.

I promise this is the last erotica for a while, haha! I was in such a massive reading slump and sometimes erotica is the only thing that can pull me outta those..

Lets get started, shall we?

Title: The Geek And His Bad Boys

Author: R.Cayden

Pages: 222

Publisher: Kindle/Self Pub

Date Published: 6/25/19

Rating: ❤️

Goodreads Synopsis: Can his tender heart handle their scorching passion?

Some people have to fight like hell for their love.

Striker and Dante? They come out swinging.

Frances: I thought I was just going to get a tattoo.

It was so out of character. All of my gaymer friends thought I was going to chicken out because I’m afraid of needles.

But I was done being scared of things. I had spent enough of my life being scared. Scared of bullies. Of my father. Scared of every jerk who put me down. The thing is, Steiner and Dante? The tattoo artists?

They scare me.

They scare me because of how amazing it feels when I’m with them. They scare me because, once we get together, I’m doing things I never thought I would do. And most of all, they scare me because of how much they love each other.

Could I dare to be loved like that, too?…

The Good Shi- there was none. I don’t enjoy being this blunt, especially with books because I know just how difficult writing can be most of the time, but that’s just how I felt.

I couldn’t connect with the characters at all. Even the sex seemed rushed (sometimes quickies are hot, if done well.) and usually with these books, even if the characters or plot aren’t enjoyable, the sex scenes will kinda save them a little bit- no such luck with this one, unfortunately.

There was a lot of telling but not showing. And the characters just all seemed like they were the same people. At times, I think the author herself confused two of the characters because they were damn near identical. And I didn’t particularly dislike any of the characters, they were just kinda.. there. I didn’t sympathize or care for them at all.

I really wish I had good things to say about this book since I had such high hopes for it. I do think I’ll be checking out more of R.Cayden’s books though!

Ok, that’s it. I’m done shitting on this book, hahaha! Hopefully next time I can come to y’all with a more positive review! I’m crossing my fingers!

‘Hate You’ by Tracy Lorraine (Review)

Hello, everyone! Hope y’all are having an awesome day so far and staying safe, most importantly.

Today I’m comin atcha with another erotica review.. I promise I’ll try to space these out, haha!
I have quite a bit to say about this book so, this may be a long one, maybe not.. But unfortunately what I have to say about it is more bad than good.
Enjoy!
(Disclaimer: Opinions are all my own and I bought this book myself.)
Title: Hate You (#1 in the ‘Rebel Ink’ series)
Author: Tracy Lorraine
Pages: 341
Rating: ❤️❤️ (2.5)
Synopsis: “Synopsis: ‘I loved to hate her…
She made it so easy. She was everything I wasn’t—everything I didn’t want to be.
A reminder that from the moment I was born, I was the outcast. The rebel.
I went against everything that was expected of me and created a life on my terms. I built my own empire, carved out my own destiny.
Then she shows up at my tattoo studio, representing everything I tried to escape. She expects to just fit in… like she ever could.
Tabitha Anderson.
The posh girl trying to prove everyone wrong… that she can be something else—someone else. She hates me because she knows I’m right.
Or so I think. Turns out this isn’t the first time we’ve met, and our hate has history. We have history.
I might not have remembered, but I damn sure won’t forget now. Won’t forget how her smile is always directed at everyone but me.
If everything changes and she proves she does fit in, will it still be hate I’m feeling or something else entirely?
And if I’m wrong, then she’s right where she belongs… with me.’ (Goodreads
The Good Shit: – The side characters. Especially Titch & D! They’re pretty much the voice of reason in all the..fuckery. Waaaay more likeable than Zachary and even Tabitha. Although Tabitha did have her witty moments that made me laugh.
-The sex scenes were super hot if you take away the context in which they were happening. And the tension/build up was perfection.
The Ugly: -Zachary and Tabitha. I’m a sucker for a good ole hate-to-love trope and that whole progression is just..oof.
Delicious. But, the dialogue in this book borders on bullying and abusive and that just ain’t it for me. They both acted like children- more so Zach who thought that Tabitha was still “his” no matter how he treated her, and Tabitha was just a complete push over. It was beyond frustrating. Their relationship gave off very “if they’re mean to you, they like you.” vibes that we were probably taught to buy into when we were little. No bueno.
Even then, I could’ve gotten past it, had the author redeemed Zach. I can usually take pretty intense angst, especially with books that use the “hate to love” trope but, she didn’t redeem this man at all, so it really left a bad taste in my mouth.
Not a relationship you should strive for, kids. I guess “hate to love” books can really be hit or miss in that sense.
I’m not really sure if I want to continue on with the series yet or not. Maybe to see if it gets better..? I really don’t know, haha.

Yes, Daddy by Dani Wyatt (Non-Spoiler Review)

Hello, everyone!

I’m so excited to be bringing y’all my first review on this second blog!

I’m looking to post at least every Monday and Friday. Maybe that’ll change, maybe it won’t. But for now I think that’s a tentative schedule I can get behind, especially with school starting up soon (but that’s for another post).

In this second blog, you and I are gonna get thoroughly acquainted. If you’re up for it, we’re gonna let our hair down and let it all hang out. Talk about things that most people find ”taboo” (I hate that word, tbh. It seems like it’s for weaklings.) so buckle up, bitches!

If you’ve read the title of this post, then you know what I’m going to be talking about today.

And yes, you filthy fuckers..it’s exactly what you think it’s about, haha!

I haven’t written a review post in a minute so I may be rusty but, lets get on with it. Shall we?
(Disclaimer: Opinions are all my own and I bought this book myself. Yes this book and this review contains DDLG content so if that’s not up your alley, you’re welcome to exit stage left. Thank youuuu!)

Title: Yes, Daddy
Author: Dani Wyatt

Pages: 129

Rating: ❤️❤️ (2.5)

Synopsis: ”Driving down a dark street in blinding rain, I hit something.

That something turns out to be Esmeralda Tremain. She’s running from someone, but I’m going to be sure she doesn’t run from me.

With one look a those red lips and mouthwatering curves, I’m instantly obsessed. When I tell her she belongs to me and she answers, ”Yes, Daddy,” her fate is sealed.

I’ll protect her.

I’ll possess her.

I’ll do anything for her.

Only, this sweet, smart intern at the DA’s office doesn’t know who I really am. I walk on the other side of the law and our differences may be the fire that burns the bridge between us. What she doesn’t know is, once I take all of her, I’m never letting go.” (Goodreads)

The Good Shit: •
The sex was pretty hot. It didn’t feel repetitive and it fed my Daddy kink needs pretty well haha. Even if at times it did come off a little cheesy.

I actually really liked the female main character! She had me rooting for her the entire time and she came off as a good person and a good daughter to her parents, a hard worker..

Any use of the word, ”princess” and ya girl is hooked.

The Ugly: •
Vito came off as a bit of an obsessive creep. The author was not lying in the blurb and I guess that kinda possession might be other people’s cup of tea but it just wasn’t mine particularly. Some people may enjoy the 24/7 power exchange, I just personally don’t, and so seeing Vito grow so possessive and obsessed with her so quickly and to see them jump into the DDLG dynamic so equally fast was kinda jarring for me.

Instalove. If you’re not into instalove, then you most likely won’t enjoy this book.
Now..I know this isn’t me asking ”too much” of an erotica novel (and I’m gonna say pretty much the same thing about another book I have coming up for review) but, I feel like if romance is gonna be added to an erotica novel, it should be more fleshed out.
At the very least, give me a love story spanning over a few months, not a few days. Because then it just feels half assed and like an after thought.
No, erotica doesn’t have to have romance and by that same token, it’s okay if it does have romance. But both aspects of the novel should be well thought out.
So. Do I recommend this book?
Even though I gave it two stars, yeah. I do recommend it. If an overly possessive Daddy Dom wets your appetite, then definitely pick up this book. Keep reading and you’ll find out where you can purchase it!
